Adult?

It's so weird to be an adult. Because I feel exactly the same. Except for the fact that when I'm out in public, I feel like people are judging more. But I'm pretty sure they're not... I'm just stupid and paranoid. :P

And it's kinda hard to enjoy your birthday when two of your really good friends aren't at school. :(

But it's easier to enjoy your birthday when one of your friends brings you brownies, you give an epic English presentation, and your parents give you an iPod 5. :)

I'm so blessed with amazing friends and family. :D

Birthday = Success

Those Little Things that Create the Best Days.

-I listened to Les Miserables music in the morning and had "Stars" stuck in my head all day.

-I completely understand my Calculus homework and got half of the problems done in class.

-I had a cello lesson during third period.  The guy I like called me in the middle of my lesson to have me help him with Physics homework.  Then I texted him afterward my lesson, and he told me to go to the library. When I got there he wasn't even doing Physics... he obviously just wanted to be with me.  (Yeah, whatever.  That's so not it.  But a girl can dream, can't she?)

-I found out that one of my new-found friends' birthday is exactly a week after mine. :)

-My friend Maddie mentioned the song "Stars" in Chamber Singers... and it was a coincidence that made me happy since the song had been stuck in my head all day.

-We performed for a random freshman English teacher in Jive.

-I invited the aforementioned special guy over to work on Physics homework after school, and he came. :) And then my mom invited him to stay for dinner, and he did.  :) :)  It was so fun! ...Wow.  I never thought I'd say that Physics homework is "so fun," but with him, it genuinely was!

-I got to play my cello at mutual because I'm playing it at New Beginnings next week.

-We had an early birthday party for me and a couple other girls for mutual.  Where we played a bunch of fun games.  One of which forced me to eat an entirely over-ripe banana.  So fun. :P

-I had cake.  Which was the first sweet I have eaten for a week because I told myself I would not eat sweets for all of February unless they were birthday or Valentine's Day related.  ...And after I ate it I felt sick.  Which is good!  I'm weaning myself off of sugar. :)  Usually two pieces of cake that size wouldn't faze me, but this one made me want to puke.  (Not that it wasn't good cake... I mean, it was DELICIOUS.)

-I'm actually going to be getting to bed before midnight. :)

A Pleasant Surprise!

I really need to blog more often!  On both of my blogs!  This is so unacceptable!  I need to make blogging more of a priority.  A priority over Facebook and Command & Conquer Generals:  Zero Hour.  (Dang! That second one's gonna be hard!)  But it needs to be a priority below homework.  (Which will probably be even harder.)  But anywho... off to my real reason for posting!

~~~
Thursday night I was babysitting for this woman in my ward, she wanted the kids in bed by 7:30, but she wasn't going to be back until 9:30.  So I was just watching TV, but then around 8:00 I received a phone call.  From Ashlee Twiss.  She is a good friend of my brother, and I have talked to her somewhat in the past.  It was quite surprising to get a phone call from her!  She told me she had watched some of my Music Post Monday videos, and she thought I was amazing and wants me to teach her how to sing and play the piano!  Crazy!  And she also said she just wants to hang out with me more.  So she invited me to go see the Imaginary Invalid with her on Friday night.  Of course I went!  I wanted to see it again anyway. :)  After the play we sat in my car and talked and talked and talked!  Until a school security guard (I didn't even know they had those..?!) came over to my car and told us that we had to  leave because it was past time for him to call the cops... awkward.  My phone was dead and my car doesn't have a working clock, so I didn't know what time it was!  It turned out to be midnight.  Oops.  But no matter, it was so fun to hang out with Ashlee and talk to her. :)
The Best Date
You know you're on a good date when...
  • Your date is the guy you have a huge crush on.
  • Your date eats half of the macaroni casserole you made (which you doubled the recipe for).
  • You show up for a play an hour before it starts because you had misinformation of when it started, and your date excitedly suggests that to kill time you should all go to his house so he can fold his laundry.
  • You actually do end up going to fold his laundry and have a competition to see who can match the most pairs of socks.
  • You see an incredibly hilarious play that many of your friends are in.
  • While driving in the car, you and your date sing at the top of your lungs to Kelly Clarkson... and he sings it in the upper octave that Kelly Clarkson is singing in, and it actually sounds good!
  • When you go back to your house for brownies, your date compliments your mom on her curtains and other various decorating techniques.
  • You totally kick everyone's trash at Parcheesi, but they refuse to accept the fact and cheat to make themselves feel better.
In all honesty, that was the best date I have ever been on.  Thank you so much Maddie for owing Traegar a date!  And thank you Mike for being Traegar's good friend and therefore the obvious option for me to ask to double with Maddie and Traegar. :D
Jivvy Jive!
I miss Jive already.
I so can't wait until April.
I just wish every day could be Jive Week.
And yes.  I am aware of my day/week incongruence.
So pretty much stage makeup is super fun.
And red lipstick.
And fake eyelashes.
And yes, I may have plucked my eyebrows.
I pretty much looked like a porcelain doll.
But I'm all right with that. :)
Plus... Apparently when I was out singing my solo number Mike said that I looked "so pretty."
Yeah, I was all faked-up... but he said I looked so pretty!
It was a happy moment. :)
Danny Marona
Danny Marona was so great!  I'm so glad I participated. :)  Even if I had to switch my song and prepare it in a week.
I wasn't pleased with my performance at all... but other people seemed to enjoy it.  So I guess that's a plus.  But I know I could've done much better.  And I should have picked a different piece.  Yeah, classical cello pieces are gorgeous, but I should have chosen something more well-known.  Maybe even the Bach Prelude...?  Everyone knows that one.
But anywho... enough complaining.
Congratulations to my great friend Emilee Gomske for getting 3rd!  And my other friend Mike Esparza for getting 1st!!!!  And to Lauren (who isn't not my friend, but who I don't really know that well) for getting 2nd.  :)
Yeah, I'm somewhat disappointed that I didn't place, but I didn't really expect to anyway.  And I am quite pleased with the finalists. :)
**2013**
January 1, 2012
January 1, 2013
2012 was a great year.
&
2013 is a year of great promise.
2012 - The Highlights.
  • Performed in my first Jive show.
  • Attended All-State for the second and last time.
  • Had the best EFY group ever.
  • Fell in love with my girls as a YCL at Girls' Camp.
  • Went to Disneyland.
  • Transferred to Twin Falls High School
  • Met many new, amazing people.
  • Improved myself physically, mentally, and spiritually.
2013 - What to expect.
  • Become an official adult.
  • Perform in my senior recital/senior project.
  • Have my last Jive show.
  • Graduate.
  • Welcome Matt home.
  • Go to Europe with the Utah Ambassadors of Music.
  • Attend BYU.
That is what happened and what is going to happen.
But here are my resolutions, or what I hope to happen.
2013 - Resolutions.
  • Read my scriptures and pray every day, in order to help grow my testimony and spiritually prepare me for a mission.
  • Attend the temple as often as possible, every Wednesday morning when it's open, and while I'm there, pray and ponder spiritual things.
  • Receive my patriarchal blessing to help guide me in my post-graduation decisions.
  • Run or swim at least once a week, hopefully more, and eat healthier to help me lose weight and become more fit physically for a mission.
  • Play my instruments more often to improve as much as I can in case I decide to become a music major.
  • Procrastinate a lot less.  I won't be able to completely rid myself of procrastination, but I can try to rid myself of most of it.
  • Along with blogging as often as I do, write in my journal at least once a week with more personal and spiritual things to remember.
  • Be kinder and less sarcastic.
  • Always remember who I am and that I am loved.  I am a daughter of God.  Don't get down on myself and be negative and depressed.
I think these resolutions are reasonable and reachable.
And you may have noticed that for the past couple years I have had the resolution of having my first kiss, but this year, that isn't one... you know what that means? ;)  Haha, just kidding.  I'm still kiss-less.  I'm just thinking that since I have little to no control over when my first kiss is, it's a stupid resolution.  It will come when it comes.  And if it comes this year, then all the better. :)
Semi-Resolutions (things that I hope to happen this year, but may not):
-First kiss
-CALL JOSHUA FINCH.  Just do it.  Like today or tomorrow.
-Apply/audition to be a Nauvoo performing missionary.
-Audition for the X Factor online.
-Go on lots of dates down at BYU.
-Become only overweight (no longer obese) by Wii Fit standards.
Danny Marona
So, on Monday Mike and I went to Emilee's house to record our Danny Marona performances.  It was so fun!  I didn't do all that great on my song... but I had to leave to go home, so I couldn't re-record it.  Hopefully I get in anyway. :)  But I'm honestly not happy with my performance at all. : / The only reason I even posted the video of my performance is because the first minute makes me laugh. :)
But Emilee pretty much did awesome.  Like always.
And they had fun messing around with my camera when I was gone.  :P
I didn't even this video until today. :)  It makes me laugh.
Oh, Mike and Emilee.  You're so strange.
  And Mike totally did awesome!
I knew Mike could sing... but not like THAT!
And then Natalie went to Emilee's house on Thursday to record hers.
This makes me laugh so hard. :D
  You wish your friends were as talented as mine.
Don't deny it.
 ☺
Oh, Mike
So, yeeaahhhhh
There's this boy.
And you now know his name.
Poop.
That was clever of me.
But whatever.
We've become friends.
And I kinda wish we were more.
But he's totally out of my league.
So I doubt that will happen.
~~~

Once some friends and I had fun confusing him via text while at Jamba Juice, and when he called us to find out what was going on, we only confused him more.

Almost every single day he texts/calls me for the Calculus assignment.  And if it's not Calculus, it's Physics.  Or English.  Which makes me happy.  Because he has friends that he has known longer than me in those classes, yet he asks me. :)

Then he tried to convince me he didn't celebrate Christmas cuz he is a Jew... and succeeded.  I honestly believed he was Jewish for about 5 minutes before he started laughing and told me he wasn't.

And all the time he randomly touches my hair.  Like a hair-touch.  I don't know what it means... or if it even means anything.

On Thanksgiving my family went and saw Wreck-It Ralph.  (Which, by the way, was super duper good.)  As soon as I heard we were going to the movies I started thinking "Ah!  We're going out in public!  What if he is there?!"  But of course, what are the chances that: one, he is even going to go see a movie on Thanksgiving; two, he is going to go to the lame old movie theater that we were going to; and three, he would go to a movie at the same time as us.  But lo and behold, guess who I ended up seeing at the movies.  Yup.  Him.  It made me happy. :)  But my family wouldn't shut up about it. :P

My older sister cat-facted him.  And he sent a cat fact back to her!  It was so funny!  And the he politely asked her to "please stop" cat-facting him.  That was definitely attractive. :)

The other day in Jive I was almost his dance partner... but I'm with Carson.  Curses!  But oh well, I'm near him, and we joke around all the time about who are the better dancers, me and Carson or him and Alicia.  Carson and I usually lose. :P

~~~
I think I'm falling for him too hard.
This won't end well.
A Day in Boise
Today for Michael Kezele's birthday,
Me, Natalie Sumsion, Maddie Quinton, and Hailey Stott took him up to Boise.
We went to the Boise temple open house.
The temple is beautiful!
(And so are my friends!)
Then we went to lunch at this one hick place, and it was delicious!
And we saw my great friend Sunny Leavitt. :)
After inhaling our food so we wouldn't be late, we hurried over to see Skyfall.
In IMAX.
On opening day.
Wow.
I loved it.
And we got free posters!
Well, they technically weren't free.
Cuz they came with the movie.
And the movie cost $15.50.
(Personally, I don't think IMAX is worth twice the cost of a regular movie, but whatever.)
And on the entire car ride back I was texting this one guy.
Not the one who I'm pretty much in love with.
But a guy who is still pretty great.
And then tonight there was a surprise birthday party for Hailey Whitehead!
Which was also great!
It was at Zulu Bagels, so we got delicious bagelly food.
And there was yummy cake.
And Just Dance 4.
It was just a really great day. :)
...Boys?
Okay... so... here's the sitch.
I wish I had a boyfriend.
Or at least a boyfriend-type figure.
You know?
Someone who I can call whenever I need to talk, someone who will hold my hand, someone to walk through haunted houses and watch scary movies with, someone to kiss my forehead when I'm having a bad day.
(Okay, maybe that last one is kinda cheesy and extreme for someone who is only a "boyfriend-type figure"... but whatever.  I want it anyway.)
I want someone to buy my flowers and chocolates.
And always sit by me at lunch without fail.
Someone who won't make me feel awkward when I go on a date with them doubling with my non-boyfriendless friends.
Can't I have this?
Please?
~~~

I actually have a boy in mind. :)  He's nice to look at. And nice to listen to.  And nice to talk to.  I wouldn't mind him being my boyfriend. :)  But I highly doubt he is interested in me that way.  But hey, he acknowledges my presence on a regular basis.  And he is usually the one who begins conversations.  And he compliments me a lot. And seems to actually care about what I say when I talk to him.  It's pretty great.

But in all reality...  he's way out of my league.

Slightly Awkward and Yet Super Fun Sadie's

I ended up going with Tyler Lofgran.  Which was great!  he's super cool. :)  Except... he kinda has a girlfriend.  And I'm perfectly all right with that, cuz I don't like him like that or anything.  It just sorta made Sadie's sorta awk.  Because in my group there was Maddie with Bradyn (a couple) and Natalie with Michael (also a couple), and then it was me and Tyler (nothing more than a date).  And we went to the Haunted mansions of Albion.  You know, scary stuff.  A "cuddle with your date and hold hands" sorta thing. Which Maddie and Bradyn and Natalie and Michael definitely did.  Whereas Tyler and I just... didn't.  Which is okay with me!  I just kinda wish I had some sort of boyfriend type figure who I could  have taken so I could have been all cutesy-hold-handsy with.  But no. *Sigh* Oh well.  Maybe next Halloween.

A Shift in the Universe

Wow...  brand new revelation from the prophet.
And it has changed my life so much.
Well, nothing has changed quite yet,
But in a few short months I will begin to see this change's effect on my life.
But I am ready.

Oh Fabio.

So...
I bought this cardboard cut-out.
And I have been having way too much fun with it.

Maddie's ransom note to ask her boyfriend to Sadies.
And Fabio creepin' in the doorway.
Getting gas with Fabio.
Just so you know... if you take Fabio to Subway,
the awesome cashier guy will give you free cookies.
Disappointingly, we weren't able to find any romance novel covers with Fabio on them.
But we took a picture of him in the romance section anyway... just cuz.
Reading him Dr. Seuss. :)
So... long story.  We put Fabio behind this kid, and were being quiet, so the kid had no idea we were there, so Maddie walked around to take a completely inconspicuous picture, but the flash was on.  So the kid looks up, completely freaked out.  He stands up and starts to walk swiftly away, but runs into Fabio, because he didn't even know Fabio was there.  So pretty much, we traumatized this kid for life.  The end.
We went to Arctic Circle and saw people we know!
Like Amanda. :)
And Maddie's Young Women's leaders.
And I fed Fabio a milkshake.
We had a lot of fun at WalMart.
Though I'm not quite sure why we took a picture of him with a pumpkin.
Apparently, aside from Romance novels, "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" is Fabio's thing.
At WalMart we found Doug.
Who is apparently a friend of Hailey and Maddie's.
Silly Fabio, you can't sleep on the couches at WalMart.
Where'd Fabio go?  We can't see him!  He must be wearing camouflage or something.
Random picture.
Fresh peanuts.
Fabio is ready for Christmas.
We stopped by Shari's and this waitress lady was in LOVE with Fabio.
Like seriously.
She is some crazy Fabio-obsessed lady.
And she kind of took Fabio and ran off  with him.
But don't worry, we got him back.
And we found Emilee at Shari's!  Yay!
So then we went to Maddie's boyfriend's house and dropped off the ransom note.
And Fabio.
We left Fabio in Bradyn's bed.
It was pretty great.
We took Bradyn's guitar for ransom.
Tomorrow we will meet Bradyn under the bridge to trade the guitar for Fabio.

But all in all... today was probably the most awesome, most awkward day of my life.
It was great.

HappySad

That moment when your best friend is in Hollywood, being filmed for national television, meeting celebrities, and becoming a celebrity themself, and you're just sitting in Idaho happy that they are living their dream but wondering when you'll see them again and for how long.

That moment when you don't know whether to be incredibly happy or incredibly sad.

~~~
By the way... if you are aware who or what I am referring to, I am trusting you will keep it confidential.  Because law suits and disqualifications could be an issue if names get out before the show is released on television.
Keep it secret, keep it safe.
In Tears on the Bathroom Floor
So... every month it happens.  You know what I'm talking about.  And I'm one of those people that gets cramps.  Bad ones.  But, you know, I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, so I can usually deal with them. BUT today they just got worse and worse and worse.  And of course, they didn't start until right after I got to school, so I didn't have any ibuprofen with me.  But they really started getting bad in Physics.  I dealt with it.  But soon my uterus was in utter agony.  I went to the office to get some ibuprofen, but they legally couldn't give me any.  Poop.  I then burst into tears, I was in so much pain.  So, being at a new school and not knowing a whole lot of people, I ran to the bathroom.  I proceeded to sit on the floor, curl into the fetal position, and cry.  I got the strangest looks.  Not two minutes after I had been in the bathroom, however, my friends Allison and Sunny walked in.  They are so sweet!  They were so concerned for me, Sunny got me some ibuprofen, and they were late to advisory because they were trying to make sure I was all right.  I love having great friends.  While I waited for the medicine to kick in, I remained on the floor crying.  From then on, almost every single person who walked into the bathroom asked me if I was okay and offered me medicine.  If I had had cramps that bad at Canyon Ridge, most people would have just ignored me.  I love Twin so much.
And It Begins...
Goodbye summer...
And hello to a new school year.
A new school.
New friends.
New memories.
And an extremely busy schedule.
I'm so anxious.
Switching schools is so nerve-wracking, but I'm excited too.
I can't wait to see what this school year brings.
Along with new everything else... I'm trying to make a new me.
(Don't worry, I'm not going to change completely.)
I want to be:
-More spiritual
-More friendly, less annoying
-More fit
-More stylish
-Less procrastinative
Here's to the new.
