A Pleasant Surprise!

I really need to blog more often!  On both of my blogs!  This is so unacceptable!  I need to make blogging more of a priority.  A priority over Facebook and Command & Conquer Generals:  Zero Hour.  (Dang! That second one's gonna be hard!)  But it needs to be a priority below homework.  (Which will probably be even harder.)  But anywho... off to my real reason for posting!

~~~
Thursday night I was babysitting for this woman in my ward, she wanted the kids in bed by 7:30, but she wasn't going to be back until 9:30.  So I was just watching TV, but then around 8:00 I received a phone call.  From Ashlee Twiss.  She is a good friend of my brother, and I have talked to her somewhat in the past.  It was quite surprising to get a phone call from her!  She told me she had watched some of my Music Post Monday videos, and she thought I was amazing and wants me to teach her how to sing and play the piano!  Crazy!  And she also said she just wants to hang out with me more.  So she invited me to go see the Imaginary Invalid with her on Friday night.  Of course I went!  I wanted to see it again anyway. :)  After the play we sat in my car and talked and talked and talked!  Until a school security guard (I didn't even know they had those..?!) came over to my car and told us that we had to  leave because it was past time for him to call the cops... awkward.  My phone was dead and my car doesn't have a working clock, so I didn't know what time it was!  It turned out to be midnight.  Oops.  But no matter, it was so fun to hang out with Ashlee and talk to her. :)
Yes.
That awesome moment when you drop your
toast but are able to catch it between your thighs
because of your amazing cat-like reflexes.
The awkward moment when you realize that the toast
was buttered and that you now have a large butter
splotch on one side of the crotch of your pants.
That Awkward Moment When...
Your choir teacher calls you a "tropical lizard."
Or at least you think he does.
But he actually says "optical illusion."
Though that may not be a whole lot better.
Slightly Awkward and Yet Super Fun Sadie's
I ended up going with Tyler Lofgran.  Which was great!  he's super cool. :)  Except... he kinda has a girlfriend.  And I'm perfectly all right with that, cuz I don't like him like that or anything.  It just sorta made Sadie's sorta awk.  Because in my group there was Maddie with Bradyn (a couple) and Natalie with Michael (also a couple), and then it was me and Tyler (nothing more than a date).  And we went to the Haunted mansions of Albion.  You know, scary stuff.  A "cuddle with your date and hold hands" sorta thing. Which Maddie and Bradyn and Natalie and Michael definitely did.  Whereas Tyler and I just... didn't.  Which is okay with me!  I just kinda wish I had some sort of boyfriend type figure who I could  have taken so I could have been all cutesy-hold-handsy with.  But no. *Sigh* Oh well.  Maybe next Halloween.
Oh Fabio.
So...
I bought this cardboard cut-out.
And I have been having way too much fun with it.
Maddie's ransom note to ask her boyfriend to Sadies.
And Fabio creepin' in the doorway.
Getting gas with Fabio.
Just so you know... if you take Fabio to Subway,
the awesome cashier guy will give you free cookies.
Disappointingly, we weren't able to find any romance novel covers with Fabio on them.
But we took a picture of him in the romance section anyway... just cuz.
Reading him Dr. Seuss. :)
So... long story.  We put Fabio behind this kid, and were being quiet, so the kid had no idea we were there, so Maddie walked around to take a completely inconspicuous picture, but the flash was on.  So the kid looks up, completely freaked out.  He stands up and starts to walk swiftly away, but runs into Fabio, because he didn't even know Fabio was there.  So pretty much, we traumatized this kid for life.  The end.
We went to Arctic Circle and saw people we know!
Like Amanda. :)
And Maddie's Young Women's leaders.
And I fed Fabio a milkshake.
We had a lot of fun at WalMart.
Though I'm not quite sure why we took a picture of him with a pumpkin.
Apparently, aside from Romance novels, "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" is Fabio's thing.
At WalMart we found Doug.
Who is apparently a friend of Hailey and Maddie's.
Silly Fabio, you can't sleep on the couches at WalMart.
Where'd Fabio go?  We can't see him!  He must be wearing camouflage or something.
Random picture.
Fresh peanuts.
Fabio is ready for Christmas.
We stopped by Shari's and this waitress lady was in LOVE with Fabio.
Like seriously.
She is some crazy Fabio-obsessed lady.
And she kind of took Fabio and ran off  with him.
But don't worry, we got him back.
And we found Emilee at Shari's!  Yay!
So then we went to Maddie's boyfriend's house and dropped off the ransom note.
And Fabio.
We left Fabio in Bradyn's bed.
It was pretty great.
We took Bradyn's guitar for ransom.
Tomorrow we will meet Bradyn under the bridge to trade the guitar for Fabio.
But all in all... today was probably the most awesome, most awkward day of my life.
It was great.
Ubes Awk...
Okay... so I actually don't do the whole "ubes," "totes," "awk" stuff... but I like saying "ubes awk" together.  Plus, it totally describes my social life.  I need to learn better social skills.  I totally SUCK at making friends.  Whenever I open my mouth to a stranger I just end up embarrassing myself.
Ughh!
WHY CAN'T I BE NORMAL!
~~~
Scenarios:

1)
Two days ago we were walking to lunch, and there were these two girls behind me.  They saw the food and one said "That looks good." And the other girl said "You look good," in a totally seductive way.  I thought it was funny and that she was just joking around.  So I turned around laughing and said "Ha!  That was funny!"  ...Only to notice that they were holding hands.  They were lesbians.  And the one girl wasn't joking when she said that seductively.  So then I just looked really awkward and rude.  I don't support homosexuals, but I'm not against them.  I accept them.  But what happened just made me look like a completely prejudiced freak.  It was awful.

2)
And last night there were these guys on the bus discussing the music they were singing  (I assumed in All-State).  I was sorta half-asleep, but I was listening anyway.  (Oh, and the guys were cute.  Which made it double awkward.)  They named a few songs and were like "Does anyone remember what the other song we're singing is?"  And I knew the All-State choir was singing Daemon, but he hadn't mentioned it.  So after a while I decided to speak up and said "It's Daemon.  You're singing Daemon."  And he looked at me and said "No, another choir.  Our choir at home."  And then he turned away.  He was really polite about it, and I'm sure it doesn't even matter, but still... he was cute.  And I felt like an idiot.  I need social skill lessons.

3)
And then today after the concert Challis and I were walking back to the gym as the band and orchestra kids were walking to the auditorium.  And we passed a guy (across a field) who had the same bright red cello case I have!  So I yelled at him "Hey!  I have that same cello case!"  And apparently he didn't hear me, so I said it again.  And then he DEFINITELY heard me.  And he looked at me and said "...sweet" in a really annoyed, uninterested voice.  I was so embarrassed because everyone was looking at me.  I even embarrassed Challis.  So yeah.  I was pretty bad.  Ughhh...

~~~
Please teach me how to speak to strangers.
